Flag, pin, and follow up on messages

Mark important Inbox messages so the right reports stay visible.

Overview

Flags, pins, and follow-up states help you decide what deserves attention before you create a task or archive a message.

Pin a message

Use Pin for messages that should stay easy to find. Good examples include urgent leaks, guest incidents, damage photos, or reports you are still coordinating with someone else.

Pinned messages appear in the Pinned filter so they do not disappear as new messages arrive.

Mark for follow-up

Use follow-up when the message needs a next step but is not necessarily urgent.

Examples:

  • You need to ask the sender for more detail.
  • You need to check the asset before deciding what to do.
  • You need to wait for a contractor, guest, tenant, or teammate.
  • You want to review attachments before saving them to asset files.

Clear the marker

After you handle the message, remove the follow-up state, complete the message, or archive it. Keeping the markers current makes the Inbox more useful over time.

Why it matters

The Inbox is not just storage. It is a triage surface for real-world reports. Pins and follow-up markers help you move from "someone told me something" to "I know what needs attention."
