Generate an asset label QR code

Create a secure QR code that opens the asset record for anyone with workspace access.

Overview

An asset label QR code gives authorized users a fast way to open the full asset record: maintenance history, files, notes, schedules, and Copilot access. It is the code to place where someone with workspace access may need the record on the spot.

Steps

  1. Open the asset.
  2. Go to the Overview tab.
  3. Open QR codes & labels.
  4. Find the Asset label panel.
  5. Select Generate QR code.

The generated Asset label shows Login required because it opens the private asset record.

When to use it

Use an asset label QR code for people who already have access to your iMaintain workspace and need quick access at the asset itself.

Examples:

  • A family member scans a water heater label to see service history.
  • A teammate opens a rental property record while onsite.
  • A vehicle manager opens service records from the glove box.
  • A caregiver scans a pet care folder to see notes and files.

Why it matters

Asset labels reduce searching. The person standing in front of the asset can open the right record immediately instead of navigating through lists or asking someone else where the information is stored.
